The SF telly is letting me down

So many new shows are reaching their climaxes on television right now. Terra Nova is turning out to be a disappointment. How could a show about living alongside dinosaurs have so few dinosaurs in it. They're leaving out their SF elements in favor of family strife teen love and petty politics.

And I just don't care.

I understand there are many facets to a good story, but if your story has zombies or aliens or dinosaurs, I want more of that. I can get family strife on Ringer. I want dino strife in the ancient past.

I wonder if TN was renewed for a second season. As it stands, it can't woo me away from Once Upon a Time, (which is slowing down a little for me) or the wonderful Downton Abbey. Sure, it's not as good as the first season, but I don't know many shows that didn't have a bit of a sophomore slump. Even with it, though, the show is gold.

Did any shows wow you then let you down this season? Is anyone else nodding off during Project Runway All Stars?

  1. The cop dude annoyed me right up front in Terra Nova. I didn't make it past the first episode. It's one reason I'm not a police officer. I think police should obey the laws they swear to uphold and having a third child when that's not legal for such serious reasons as resource issues (including oxygen) and then acting as if it's unfair persecution when he got caught.

My favorite new show is Person of Interest despite the magic computer program.

  2. I'm looking forward to renting Downtown Abbey and Once Upon a Time. (We don't have the little black box and find we don't miss it. We just order things we want from the library.) Smallville's season 10 has had some weak spots for me, but some high points too. Much like the entire run. Doctor Who's 6th season was somewhat predictable again, but still fun. Like Matt Smith, but miss Tennant. Battlestar Galactica is good for Whiners in Space, but still. And of course, I understand the last few episodes really let people down. Haven't got there yet. Sigh. I'm trying not to rely TOO much on t.v. as a good source of entertainment.

  3. I haven't tried person of interest, Marilou. I might Netflix it. I miss Tennant, too, Victoria. So much of TV turns into a bummer so quickly.
